How We Can Help
As with our osteopaths, Karen takes a full and thorough consultation, physical examination and postural assessment to safely and correctly assess the nature of most injuries, followed by a discussion advising a specific treatment plan. She uses advanced massage and non-massage techniques, followed by a suggested rehabilitation programme, which offers practical advice on how to maintain movement, help correct postural issues and assist in improving sporting and/or training performance.
Therapeutic massage is the ideal form of massage for total relaxation. Whilst promoting well-being by stimulating blood flow and toxin release you can feel the tension drain away leaving you feeling completely relaxed and revitalised.
Sports and Remedial massage can may be used for injuries sustained during or because of sports related activities, as well as, musculoskeletal problems relating to work or lifestyle choices. There are a wide range of advanced non-massage techniques that can help to restore muscle and joint function and help improve posture while relieving the ache and discomfort associated with general stress and tension.
Deep Tissue Massage
This type of massage focuses on both the superficial and deep muscles and is ideal for individuals who experience constant aches and pains and muscle discomfort. For those involved in heavy physical activity, and patients who have sustained physical injury you will find this massage extremely beneficial.
(The term “deep tissue” should not be confused with “deep pressure” massage, which is one that is performed with sustained strong pressure throughout an entire full-body session)
On-site Seated Massage
Some patients find it uncomfortable lying on a massage table but enjoy having massage therapy. In this case, seated massage is a good option. This form of therapy targets the upper body, arms, hands and scalp and can be administered over clothing and is very effective for people with back and shoulder issues.
Massage appointments are available Wednesday afternoons from 1pm until 7pm. Please contact The Courtyard Clinic on 01621 842750 for appointments.
